Kenai Peninsula Lidar

High quality LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) for the Kenai Peninsula was collected in the summer of 2008 through a collaboration of Federal, State and Local agencies and entities. This dataset contains high resolution LiDAR and derived products (digital elevation model, digital surface model). Data collected and processed to 4 foot resolution in the Western Kenai Peninsula lowlands and 10 foot resolution in the Upper Kenai River Watershed.

QA/QC performed by the University of Alaska Fairbanks - Geophysical Institute. Data meets or exceeds accuracy requirements of vertical accuracy better than one foot and horizontal accuracy better than 3.2 feet.

Data collection details: Aircrafts: Cessna 320 (N3443Q) and Piper Navajo (N6GR), LiDAR System: Optech ALTM Gemini (03SEN145), Approximate Collection Altitude (Above Mean Terrain): 1800 meters Ground Speed: 180 knots, Pulse Rate Frequency: 70 kHz, Mirror Scan Frequency: 40 Hz, Scan Angle (+/-): 16 degrees, Beam Divergence: Narrow (0.25 mrad).
