High-Resolution Global Maps of 21st-Century Forest Cover Change

Using more than 650,000 high-resolution images from Landsat, a team of scientists and Google partnered to create a global map showing forest cover change from 2000 to 2012. The interactive online tool allows users to discover changes to the Earth's forest resources at a 30 meter scale. Several areas on the Kenai Peninsula experienced forest cover changes over the time period.
